Davin Montoya resides
at 7463 Highway 160, Hesperus. Born in Durango, he is a graduate
of Farmington High School, and attended Fort Lewis College
and New Mexico State University.
Montoya is a local rancher and is involved in retail business.
He has served as president for the following: La Plata County
Cattleman's Association, Hay Gulch Ditch Company, and the
Farm Bureau.
Montoya has been on the LPEA board since 1990 and serves on the Administration and Systems'
Operation & Planning Committees.

Thomas
L. Compton lives at 1129 County Road 123, Hesperus.
He was born in Kansas. Compton holds a Master's degree in
biology from the University of Alaska and a Ph.D. in zoology
from the University of Wyoming.
He currently works as a rancher, legislative consultant
and college instructor. His business experience includes:
owner/manager, Compton Cattle Company; budget experience
with the Durango Board of Education; Basin Co-op Board;
Founding Chair of the Colorado Agricultural Land Trust,
1995; and member of the Colorado Cattlemen Board of Directors.
In addition, he has received the following special awards:
Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award, 1978; La Plata County
Cattleman of the Year, 1991; Outstanding Colorado Rural
School Board Member, 1986; and Colorado Association of
School Boards Honor Roll, 1986. Compton is currently a
President-elect of the Colorado Cattlemen's Association,
and he is a member of the Colorado Farm Bureau and the
First Presbyterian Church, Durango.
Compton is the Secretary of the Board, chairman of the Administration Committee and serves on the External Organizations & Issues Committee. He is the board's CREA representative.

Jerry L. McCaw of 7063
Hwy. 172, Ignacio, was elected to the LPEA Board in 2000.
McCaw attended the Ignacio School System, Fort Lewis College
and Colorado State University. He holds a Bachelor's Degree
in Civil Engineering and is a farmer/rancher and an engineer
with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
McCaw served 15 years on the Basin Co-op Board of Directors,
is a past member of the Ignacio School Board and has served
on many local and state advisory committees. He is currently
a member of the La Plata and Colorado Cattlemen’s Association,
the Habitat Partnership Program for La Plata and Archuleta
Counties and a member of the National Cattle Feeders’
Association. He was honored as DACRA’s “Agriculturalist
of the Year.”
Jerry serves on the board's Budget Finance & Audit Committee and is
President of the WESODI Board of Directors.
