Herbert
C. Brodsky resides at 1824 County Road 204,
Durango. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. He has a
B.S. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University
and a master of automotive engineering from Chrysler
Institute of Engineering.
Brodsky is a management consultant, advising businesses
on organizational and financial planning, and designing
systems and procedures for his clients. His professional
experience includes: vice president, directory of
property management, Melvin Simons and Associates,
Indianapolis; product manager for the Carborundum
Company, Commercial Filters Division, Lebanon, Indiana
and the Air Maze Division of Rockwell Standard Corporation
Cleveland, Ohio. He also served as a staff engineer
for Chrysler Corporation, Detroit. He is a past
president of the La Plata County Unit of the American
Cancer Society, Durango Natural Foods and the Durango
Repertory Theatre Company.
Brodsky served as president of the LPEA board for three
years. He serves on the Administration and Budget Finance & Audit Committees as well as serving on the FastTrack Board the La Plata Electric Round
Up Foundation board.

Ed Zink of 4166 CR
203, Durango, was elected to the LPEA board in 2002.
Ed was born in Durango and holds a bachelor’s
degree in business management from Fort Lewis College.
He was an LPEA board member from 1986 to 1992 and has
taken several continuing education classes about rural
electric co-ops.
Ed serves on the Budget Finance & Audit Committee
and serves on the FastTrack Board of Directors.
Zink's business experience is extensive. He helped
start and still helps to operate Mountain Bike Specialists
(opened in 1967 as the Outdoorsman) and Handlebar Cycle.
He purchased from his father and continues to operate
Waterfall Ranch and Waterfall Ranch Outfitters. He was
an original partner in the VanDal Landfill, Falcon Heights
subdivision and Stoneage Engineering.
Ed's volunteer experience includes six years on the
LPEA Board of Directors; he founded the Iron Horse Bicycle
Classic Committee; Board Member and Chairman, National
Off-Road Bicycle Association; and Board of Directors,
USA Cycling. He helped form and served on the boards
of the San Juan Mountains Association and the Durango
Foundation for Educational Excellence.
Awards he has received include: Business Supporter
of the Year from the La Plata County Fair Board;
Korbel Cup for lifetime achievement in cycling from
USA Cycling; and Volunteer of the Year from the
Durango Area Chamber/Resort Association.

Pam Patton of 1784 County road 505, Bayfield grew up in the Pine
River Valley, graduating from Fort Lewis College after
attending primary & secondary school in Bayfield.
She spent a twenty-year career in the U.S. Navy before
returning to the Pine River Valley in 1994.
Pam has served on LPEAs board since
2000 and is currently President. She is an NRECA Credentialed Cooperative Director and has also received a Cooperative Board Leadership certificate from NRECA. She serves on the Systems' Operation & Planning and External Organizations & Issues Committees. She also serves on the board of FastTrack Communications, the La Plata County Service Extension Unit of The Salvation Army, Community Emergency Assistance Coalition, The League of Women Voters of La Plata County, and La Plata Electric’s Round-Up Fund. She is a member of the Rotary Club of the Pine River Valley, & Calvary Presbyterian Church and is active in other community organizations.
Pam and her husband, John, serve as U.S.
Naval Academy liaison officers for this region and like
to ski, hike, fly, cook, and adventure around.
