Dear Members,

As you know, we have recently experienced three (3) power outages since October. It is just as frustrating to us as it must be to you. We apologize for the inconvenience and wanted to reach out to let you know what happened and what we are doing to correct the issue.

Our line crews worked tirelessly through the night to find these underground faults. In all recent cases, we found the faults, which are holes in the cable, and we made temporary repairs. Your power lines were built approximately 25 years ago and are starting to degrade due to age.

We will continue to monitor this cable for future issues with the intent to replace all aged underground cable in the Hermosa area. We are working on a plan for replacement and will communicate with you on timing.

Members are advised to contact LPEA at (970) 247-5786 if your home or business experiences a power outage or if you see a downed power line. For your safety, remember to stay at least 50-feet away from a downed line and LPEA work site when crews are on scene. Safety is paramount at LPEA.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Jessica Matlock

LPEA Chief Executive Officer
